opportunity summit: initiate

April 12, 2018

More than 750 changemakers met for Opportunity Summit 2018: Initiate to step up community efforts to reduce youth disconnection—the number of youth ages 16–24 who are not working or in school—in San Diego County. There are an estimated 41,000 opportunity youth in the region.

The San Diego Workforce Partnership brought together an expert lineup of speakers and added breakout sessions to dig deep into issues that affect opportunity youth. More than 150 young adults were in attendance to speak boldly about their lives, passions and aspirations through speaking roles, performing and visual arts, a social media takeover and more.
